Why Awareness Matters

Small businesses don’t usually fail because of one big mistake—they struggle because not enough people know they exist.
You can get the product right. The pricing right. The positioning right. But if no one knows about you, none of it matters. That’s what makes this challenge so frustrating. You can do everything “right” and still feel invisible. And building awareness? It might cost nothing—or it might cost more than a small business can realistically afford.
That’s a big part of the “why” behind Snacks of the Nation. I partner with small businesses that are doing things the right way—thoughtfully, intentionally, and often against the odds. They don’t need to be fixed. They need to be seen.
My goal is simple: build a small but mighty community of people who care about discovering and supporting these brands. When I first started, I was struck by how generous and supportive this community already is. People genuinely want to help each other succeed.
So here’s the ask—and it’s a small one.
If you want to buy something, that’s amazing. But even better? Tell one or two people.
That’s how small businesses grow. That’s how they survive.
